The Grundfos UPMS 20-78 F is a high-efficiency ECM variable-speed circulator built for tough hydronic and outdoor wood boiler applications. It is the same physical size class as a Taco 011 and delivers very similar head and flow performance, so it will fit in the same location and handle the same type of work while using much less power.
In a typical outdoor boiler system the 20-78 F is an excellent choice for long runs — up to about 500 feet of equivalent length once you factor in heat exchangers, elbows, valves, and other fittings — making it ideal for buried 1" PEX loops feeding plate exchangers, coils, and manifolds.
